FAQ

Why should I use a mobile mechanic service?

Simply, it’s convenient and can be less hassle. You can schedule regular vehicle maintenance that comes to you while you care for daily needs, or even while you do…whatever you want!

Multiple vehicles/machines to maintenance? No problem, get them all done at the same time.

Does a mobile mechanic cost more than other mechanics?

Not necessarily. We use a Labor Guide (that most shops use) to provide competitive pricing. If we are more expensive, we ask that you compare the product(s) we are using to what the lower priced competitor is using.

EX: Mechanic A changes oil for 27$ while mechanic B charges 50$. Mechanic A may be using very low quality oil and filters that the company doesn’t even stand behind, while Mechanic B uses high quality oil and filters that are reputable and the companies stand behind so that your equipment is actually protected.

Should I use AMSOIL?

Many want to know if using AMSOIL is “worth it”? For some circumstances, AMSOIL could save individuals hundreds per year. Check out our Oil cost analysis page and read our Blog Post “Is Synthetic Motor Oil Worth it for Me” to see if it may fit your circumstances.

This is a personal choice that should be made based on many factors. We will provide assistance, but the customer bears all responsibility for the final choice.

Do you offer warranty?

We work hard to have good relationships with our customers and provide reliable maintenance and work. We do stand behind our work within reason. Unless expressly agreed upon in writing, warranty will be based on Craig’s Mobile Mechanic’s sole discretion.

We do NOT warranty the materials, they are warrantied (if any) by the producer. It is the customer’s responsibility to pay for the service of replacing a producer warranted product that failed due to no fault of Craig’s Mobile Mechanic workmanship.

We want to have good customer relationships and we ask our customers to have the same courtesy. If your item in our discretion is in any way unsafe, we reserve the right to decline the work to be done and the customer will pay for the products already purchased and for a service trip of $40.

What do your “Free Quotes” consist of?

Our Free Quotes as advertised are free OVER THE PHONE quotes.

If we visit you in person, we appreciate that you understand the travel requires time and gas so a minimum service call will be charged of $40. Due at the end of the visit.

Why are some of your services more expensive than the auto shop down the road?

We strive to be dependable, professional, and affordable, all while standing behind our work and the products we use. Often times, when you compare service for service and product for product we are on point or even less expensive than other options. Ex: if an oil change we offer costs more than your local auto shop- check what oil they use vs what we use and the quality of the product, plus we come to you, no waiting in a shop or hassle of arranging around it.
